dammit.. dreaded school starting again tmr.. NO!!!!!!!!!! dammit.. i'm so gonna die when getting back those stupid papers and my parents will just flip and cancel my sports channel.. then i'll miss my EPL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh well.. world cup finals later.. france against italy.. well well well.. who would have expected that to happen from the start? certainly not me..
but there's actually one thing about these finals that i find.. the gaining of favour of the 4-2-3-1 formation..

liverpool used it to win the champion's league in 2005.. chelsea has always being using it under jose.. barca won the chanpion's league with it this year.. and surprise surprise.. both france and italy use this formation.. -_-

the 4-2-3-1 formation actually requires a team to have a very hard working midfield 2 in front of the defence.. liverpool had hamann and alonso that time.. chelsea has essien and makelele.. france uses vearia makelele.. italy uses gattuso and pirlo.. these two holding midfielders work their socks off every night to protect the back 4.. and usually 1 is the ultra-defensive one and the other is a play- maker..

however.. playing a 4-2-3-1 usually means a weaker attack since you only go forward with 4 players.. so switching from defence to attack is usually slower and teams cannot counter-attack playing with this formation.. the 3 attacking midfielders play a crucial role as they cannot afford to leave their front man isolated.. portugal has ronaldo, deco and playing behind the striker.. and liverpool had kewell, gerrard and garcia..

most importantly.. the lone striker has to be very technically gifted.. since he's usually isolated upfront.. he has to link up play well and bring the other midfielders into the game.. henry from france is a master at such a job..

ok.. kind of lazy already.. so i'll just go into my prediction.. it'll definitely be a low scoring match with both sides it'll probably be decided by a moment of brilliance..

ok.. i'll be bias and give a bias prediction.. 0-1!!!! why must be 0-1 and not 1-0? because 0-1 sounds nicer!!! ( ok.. close friends please dun give this off.. thanks )
